i’m having to tweak certain things about the script to make it more clever. it’s racking my brain since actor schedules, location availability, and crew aren’t all syncing up. but, lo and behold, i aint afraid.
introducing Venom:
this is beau ballinger. i worked with him in two short films last year. one of them, WAKE, was screened all over the place including cannes short film corner, new york independent, route 66, and a bunch of other places. the other, NEXT STOP, is one of my own personal favorites.
introducing Medusa:
this is iylla jean. she’s like a cherub and a harpie rolled into one! lol she models for nisa and andrea araujo and is the leading cause of whiplash among men and women in the bay area. she designed the poster for a horror noir movie i edited two years ago which won an award in tokyo for the worst film (and poster) ever made on earth and in parallel universes. she’s beautiful and i love her.

we won’t be shooting at villain’s shoes anymore. dan the manager quit several weeks ago and i didn’t want to pursue another conversation about it since it took us so long to do the shoot. instead, we will shoot at NISA on 24th and Church. doing so also changes the script.
we no longer focus on the shoes. now, it’s a specific dress. we also no longer link stella directly with venom. instead, scarlett links to persephone who links to venom. venom links medusa and medusa links the letter from venom’s sister. i’ve gotten rid of the child, aesop, between venom and medusa because of the gene thing. that also cuts out the suicide scene between aesop and persephone. instead, an unborn child saves persephone. medusa is now a runway model instead of a burlesque princess. don’t get mad.

i’ve been going back and forth about the controversial shot in the movie. many already voiced that the story doesn’t need the explicit vag shot i keep saying i need. i keep thinking, but it’s not an erotic shot…it’s an art shot. yet, many feel that it would make most people squirmish and may be interpreted as just another shock shot.
i found a model to do it, but to use a stunt cunt may be an issue with the actress who’ll play the speaking role. so i gave her a call and, as i thought, it’s an issue. eventhough the final decision is the film, my first consideration are the actors in this case. but, by talking to her, i was reminded about the true intent of the film, which is the honesty of the story and to expose a deep and personal side to the shallow and the restless. the movie is not a shock for kicks movie nor is it a soft porn. so, i’ve decided not to shoot the vag. at least, not for this movie.
